The Summer I Turned Pretty

Every summer, Isabel and her family used the spend the holidays at their friend Susannah's house on the beach.

They used to have so much fun with Susannah's sons, Jeremiah and Conrad, but this year they're not children anymore.

Something seems to have changed. It could be the last summer they spend together in this house that hides so many memories, so many secrets...

Because when people grow up, they can either grow closer or grow apart.

By Jenny Han, a touching book about summer loves, memories and growing up. I loved the flashbacks in between the chapters: it shows the difference between this summer and the last ones.

THE book for this summer - 8.5/10.

PS: If you enjoy reading it, a movie is scheduled to be released in summer 2014, starring Lily Collins as the main character Belly (Isabel).

Whether you are trying to recover from a heart-break or you just want to read a romantic book, I've got exactly what you need.

The Heartbreakers is written by Pamela Wells, who dedicated her book to all the girls who were once heart-broken.

It draws the story of four high-school girls who just broke up with their boyfriends. One of them didn't even have one, so she sets a list of rules to help her friends forget about boys.

Funny, and helpful if you're in the same position as the main characters :) - 7.5/10.

The Summer I Learned To Fly

It's summer and the not-so-many friends she has are outside the country. Drew is around thirteen years old and her dad is dead. She was planning to stay with her mom, help her with the shop she owns and of course stare at Nick, the cute employee they hired.

But that was until she found her dad's diary. And met a strange guy who's learning to be her friend. And discovered her mom had secrets too ...

This book, written by Dana Reinhardt, is an excellent portrait of the stereo-typical lonely teenager whose life is about to change.

A touching story about a girl entering teenage. About a girl discovering life. About a girl learning to fly.
